The Smart Cities Challenge is a pan-Canadian competition open to all municipalities, local or regional governments, and Indigenous communities (First Nations, Métis and Inuit). The Challenge empowers communities to adopt a smart cities approach to improve the lives of their residents through innovation, data and connected technology.

Challenge statement

Vaughan will continue to blend its five historic communities into “One Vaughan” with connected and engaged citizens to strengthen social cohesion and increase a sense of belonging by 10 per cent while creating new levels of accessibility to services, information and events, thereby supporting mental well-being for all Canadians.
