Global City Futures

This session was presented as part of Future Cities Canada: #UnexpectedSolutions.

Joanna Averley, Chief Planner, England; Huhua Cao, Professor of Geography, Environment and Geomatics, University of Ottawa; Nicholas Li, Senior Architect, Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore; and Joe Berridge, Partner, Urban Strategies.

Often the keys to our own city’s future can be found in the experience of others. What lessons can we learn, good and bad, from European, Chinese, African and Asian cities, and apply to Canada? The panel assembled includes the UK’s Chief Planner, the Senior Architect for the URA, Singapore and an expert in the planning and development of African and Asian cities. Learn how they are approaching de-carbonization, inequality and discrimination, and the ways to undertake big projects in a post-COVID world.
