Municipal Mobilization for Open Procurement
- Date Updated:
This is one of four Community Solutions Advisory Service Case Studies that highlights the replicability of the open smart city approach and the solutions offered to communities through the Community Solutions Advisory Service led by Open North.
Traditional methods of public procurement are becoming increasingly obsolete. Several Quebec municipalities are indeed faced with various procurement- related issues, particularly in the field of information technology (IT), and often face administrative, legal and technological barriers. To be better equipped to meet these challenges, five of the ten largest cities in Quebec as well as Quebec’s Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation have completed the Advisory Service learning and knowledge sharing program on the open procurement approach and the neutral market analysis method.
This Community Solutions Advisory Service Case Study was written by Michaël Houle and Pierre-Antoine Ferron, with design by Tatev Yesayan.
